Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. Currently holds a Arizona Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and is working towards her California Credential. Taught English abroad in Madrid, Spain.

Kathy Baxter

Advanced Certificate in Catechetics from the University of Sacramento. She has spent 25 years of loving St. John Notre Dame students in the 4th grade.

Danielle Brandenburg

Associate of Arts degrees in Liberal Studies & English from Rancho Santiago College. Catechesis Certification from University of Notre Dame. Instructional Aide in multiple grades for 8 years and Director of Extension for 7 years at SJND.

Tyler Crandall

Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from CSU Monterey Bay, Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Studies from CSU Sacramento, and a Master of Arts in Counseling, PPS from CSU Sonoma.  He has 9 years of experience in both Catholic and public schools.

Cheryl Garcia

Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. She has worked at SJND for 13 years as an instructional aide and teacher; 10 years teaching 2nd grade Reading, 2 years teaching Religion and 9 years teaching primary Math.

Diane George

Associate of Arts degree, Liberal Studies; Associate of Science degree and Administration of Justice degree, Sierra College. Bachelor of Science degree Criminal Justice, Youth Authority Studies, California State University Sacramento. 27 years teaching and tutoring 2nd-8th grade math; 8 years at SJND.

Pat George

Bachelor of Science - Organizational Behavior/Business Management and Master of Arts - Education from USF (dual program). PPS Credential /Emergency Teaching Credentialing and MFT License. Adjunct professor at CSU Sacramento. 21 years of providing educational support services to students.

Felicia Heiler

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University.  She has been at SJND for 17 years.

Kendall Horton

Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, minor in Rhetoric & Communication from UC Davis. Multiple Subject Clear Credential, CLAD Certificate, and State of CA Supplemental Authorization to teach Middle & High School English and Civics & Government from CSU, Sacramento. Catechesis Certification from Univ of Notre Dame.  Teaching since 2002 and at SJND since 2012.

Whitney Hunt

BA in Psychology from the UC Berkeley.  Master of Science in Psychology from CSU Sacramento.  Worked with children and families for many years.  This is her second year working as a Teacher Aide in the TK classroom, but 6th year as a part of the SJND community.

Allie Hurtado

Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Health and Exercise Science and focus in Native American Studies from the University of Oklahoma. One year of experience working in a Catholic Early Childhood Development Center. SJND alumna, class of 2008.

Debbie Hurtado

Bachelor of Arts - Liberal Studies, CSU Sacramento, Masters in Education - Curriculum Development & Instruction, University of San Diego, CA State Multiple Subject Clear Professional Credential, 27+ years teaching experience (kindergarten 😨 - college)
This is her 24th year in Catholic middle school and 20th year at SJND.

Kate Jenkins

Associates of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Harcum College, Bryn Mawr, PA. Worked as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for fifteen years.  Part of the SJND family as both a parent of two graduates, and as the third grade instructional aide for the past nine years.

Katie Johnson

Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies General Education at the University of Nevada Reno and the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Program at Brandman University. Taught eighth grade math intervention for five years and middle school English for three years.

Margie Keshishian

Bachelor of Science in Finance from CSU Long Beach.  Teacher's aide in Kindergarten for 10 years and assistant bookkeeper for 6 years at SJND.

Keith Martin

Bachelor of Arts degrees in Liberal Studies & Religious Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Notre Dame de Namur University and a Master of Educational Leadership degree from The University of Notre Dame. He has 19 years teaching experience in Catholic Schools.

Kelly McKelvey

Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Cum Laude with a minor in Business Management from the University of California, Irvine. This is her fourth year working at SJND, but her eighth year as part of the SJND family. She volunteered and helped children through non-profit work for 10 years.

Bachelor of Arts degree in History, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Master of Art in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. She has five years teaching experience in Catholic Schools.

Austin Otto

Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Sacramento State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of San Francisco.  He has 6 years of teaching in Catholic schools and holds a CA Single Subject Teaching Credential in Math and Science.

Sharon Penrose

Bachelor of Arts in Communication from California State University, Chico.  Studied Fine Arts abroad in Florence, Italy. Worked in the Advertising Industry before becoming the Art Teacher at St. John Notre Dame in 2002.

Joe Portelli

Bachelor of Arts degree in Unified Elementary/Special Education from Keuka College and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Syracuse University.  Currently holds a Special Education Teaching Credential.  He has been teaching for fifteen years and is entering his sixth year in Catholic Schools.

Bridget Quiroz

Bachelor of Science in Geology from California State University, Sacramento.  She has been the instructional aide in 5th grade at SJND for eight years and is now a Kindergarten aide.

Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Maryknoll College Philippines. Law Degree from Ateneo School of Law Philippines. Religious Education Catechist for 15 years.

Stephanie Shebert

Bachelor of Arts in English, minor in Education from UC Davis.  Single Subject - English and Multi-Subject Teaching Credentials from CSU Sacramento. Cross-cultural Language and Academic Development and English as a Second Language- Certificates. 30 years teaching experience, with 15 years in the Catholic schools.

Luly Smith

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Reno, Nevada.  She has been at SJND for 17 years.

Marquese Smith

Bachelors or Arts in Communication from CSU Sacramento. Also played Football on a full ride scholarship all 4 years at CSU Sacramento. 8 years coaching and teaching in both public and Catholic schools. Coach Football, Basketball and Soccer at the elementary and high school level. 

Kevin Stenvick

Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento. Attended Catholic school in Sacramento from K-12. He has 4 years experience in education and coaching in Catholic schools.

Sue Styren

Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (emphasis on History, Sociology, and Psychology) from the UC at Santa Barbara, K-12 Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters of Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University. Online and Blended Learning Teacher Certification, SCOE; teaching elementary school since 1998, at SJND since 2003.

Joe Terranova

Bachelor in Biology from Saint Joseph's University and Masters in Education from Notre Dame through the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE).  Summer research experience with the chemical engineering department at Notre Dame and certified Wilderness EMT through NOLS. He has 9 years teaching experience.
